For nearly two decades, Dr. Gloriana Hunter taught courses on wellbeing exclusively through universities, medical groups, and government agencies. Under her tutelage thousands have learned how to grow their mental health and wellbeing, plus help others along the way.
As an educator, author, and mental health activist, she has written several articles, workbooks, and textbooks, keynoted at conferences, and facilitated discussions on the science of wellbeing with professional audiences.
Affectionately known as Dr. Gloriana by her colleagues and students, she packs her skill-based classes with practical tools mixed with humor and inspiration.
As founder of the Well Beings Project, she brings her personal vision to life: To create an educated and supportive community where people are empowered to live their life of hope, purpose, and passion.
Dr. Gloriana resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her family and three cute, spoiled doggos. Her hobbies include belly laughs with friends, traveling to the far corners of the world, and wishing her garden wouldn't die while she's away.
I've always relied on my career to see me through rough or scary times. Outside I showed every bit of career brilliance. Inside I wanted to die. This is not a euphemism. I truly wished to die. I never acted. Instead, for over 25 years, I resigned myself to living with the darkness and pain.
I was a marketing director and had just closed a high-dollar contract. I went to the office directly from the airport, celebrated with my staff, and then started my hour-long commute home. But instead of relishing my success, I grappled with how to end my emotional pain.
As I got closer to home, I had a moment of clarity. "This is not normal." For the first time, I called a crisis hotline. This single act of self-care started a journey that would forever change my life.
I received therapeutic help and had people with similar experiences walk alongside me. They taught me to contemplate life differently. This was a game-changer. Soon, I realized I could make a more significant impact in the lives of others. I switched careers and dedicated myself to teaching others how to anchor into their emotional wellness and harness their life experiences to build their resilience.
Today, I'm an acclaimed expert and educator on the science of emotional wellbeing and resilience. I have keynoted conferences, taught professionals, assisted governments in legislating mental health initiatives, and authored several articles, papers, and textbooks. Most importantly, I have taught thousands of individuals how to grow their emotional wellbeing by building a Resilience Lifestyle.
To express gratitude for where I am, I created Well Beings Project™ to impact others in their journey toward emotional wellbeing and resilience. As a person who has "been there," I learned how to thrive through rough patches. As an educator, I know how to teach others to thrive through their trying circumstances.
